A Texas teen who claimed to have coronavirus and boasted on Snapchat about spreading it is now wanted by local police, authorities said.
Lorraine Maradiaga, 18, of Carollton, will be charged with making a terror threat in connection with the alarming social media videos, police posted to Facebook.
“We have no confirmation Maradiaga is actually a threat to public health,” cops wrote. “We are, however, taking her social media actions very seriously.”
One video obtained by KXAS-TV shows Ms Maradiaga arriving at what appears to be a drive-through testing site for COVID-19.
The nurse at the site can be heard telling her to go home and wait for results, the report said.
In the next series of videos, Ms Maradiaga is shown shopping at what she claims is Walmart, according to the outlet.
“I’m here at Walmart about to infest every (expletive) because if I’m going down, all you (expletive) are going down,” she says.
“If you want to get the coronavirus and f***ing die, call me,” she threatens viewers.
“I’ll meet you up and I will shorten your life,” the teen continues, coughing as she speaks.
A Carrollton Police Department spokesperson told the local station that officers went to Maradiaga’s home on Sunday, but she wasn’t there.
But police said her family was co-operating and hoped the teen would turn herself in, according to the report.
